Nitro EVA. (CTR) Ver11.1

The purpose of the following cartridge was to test and diagnose various functions on Nintendo 3DS systems during production. Something to note is that this is, unusually, an updated version of the original Nintendo DS aging cartridge (dated December 8th, 2011). Because of this, it is able to be used within an original DS/Lite. In order to get access to the main option menu, hold the start and select buttons upon startup.

The following is a Japanese store demo of New Super Mario Bros. Unlike the other demos for this game, there is no time limit and you are still able to save your progress. This specific version was created in late 2009 for use with Nintendo DSi XL kiosks.

Differences

  • Minigames are inaccessible.
  • The game will automatically boot past the DS home menu.
  • Various files have been removed from the demo.

Gyro Sensor Calibration CTR (Japan) (May 8th 2013)

The following is a later version of the Gyro Sensor Calibration CTR software, dated May 8th, 2013. This software was used at Foxconn in conjunction with a test jig during the manufacturing of Nintendo 3DS systems to ensure correct operation of the gyroscope within the units. Without the necessary hardware you will not be able to pass the first screen.

Demon's Crest (USA) (Prototype)

The following is a largely unfinished port of Demon’s Crest for the Game Boy Advance by Rival Dreams. This demo was previously unknown to the internet, but appears to be a faithful port of the Super Nintendo original. Unfortunately it seems to be in a rather buggy state. When attempting to play it unaltered, the game will crash after pressing start at the title screen. With some hacking, you can progress further to a semi-functional rendition of the first stage. As such, a patched version is also included within this release.

The port was pitched to Capcom but never ended up materializing into a full product. Something worth noting is that the ROM’s header is “DARKEDEN”, which may be indicative of the game being used as a base for this demo.
